How to place your bet
There are three significant techniques that are used commonly among players. Some of these techniques are used by players though they never realize the technique has a name and has been refined. It is simply how they play and it is an obvious choice for them. Professionals that study techniques and develop gaming skills also use these techniques though, and they use them to great effect. They are described here rather simply and you will notice their simplicity lends them to immediately trying them out. Have fun with them, and may your gaming be happier ever after.
The first technique is one that is used to maximize those winnings that some people achieve in streaks. The technique is often referred to as progressive betting. As the name may imply the technique involves betting more and more each time. You may want to institute a standard increment or you may want to utilize an exponential increase. If you are familiar with mathematics and you agree with the idea of winning streaks then you will likely want to choose an exponential increase. This increases your bid by a greater factor each time, for example 2, 4, 16, 32 is an exponential increase compared to a standard increase such as 2, 2, 2, 2. You’re playing style and the amount of money that you have may influence which you choose. The idea with the technique though is to increase your bet with each consecutive win. Until of course you lose. So, what do you do then?
You may have guessed it. When you lose you can use negative progression. This technique involves simply decreasing your bet each time you lose consecutively. It is intended to accomplish two things. The first is to simply reduce your loses on each hand, and secondly to break the losing streak.
The final technique that is sometimes used is insurance betting. This involves reducing your bet even when you win. You may want to use this technique if you bet more than you wanted to on the prior hand because you were confident about your hand. You may have won, but you still may want to reduce your bet back to a level that you are comfortable with.
